Education is the foundation of a country’s progress, ensuring growth in every sector. Equal access to education empowers individuals and uplifts communities. However, in India, Dalits have historically faced significant barriers to education. The rate of Dalit education remains low due to social discrimination, economic struggles, and systemic exclusion. Untouchability, though legally abolished, still affects their access to schools, especially in rural areas. Many Dalit children face exclusion from classrooms and lack proper learning resources. Additionally, the distance to schools and poor infrastructure further hinder their education. To bridge this gap, the government must ensure inclusive policies, scholarships, and awareness programs. Providing a discrimination-free learning environment is crucial for social equity and national development. Only when education is accessible to all can true progress be achieved.
