True development can only be achieved when every community has equal access to education, resources, and opportunities. Education empowers individuals, opens doors to better livelihoods, and strengthens the foundation of a nation.
Unfortunately, when it comes to Dalits in India, the situation has been quite different and often discouraging. For decades, Dalit communities have faced social and economic discrimination, which has deeply affected their access to education. The rate of Dalit literacy and school attendance continues to remain low compared to the national average. Many children from these communities struggle to receive even basic education. Issues such as social exclusion, discrimination based on untouchability, and lack of awareness among parents create barriers that prevent Dalit children from attending school regularly.
Another significant challenge is the lack of infrastructure in rural areas. Schools are often located far away, making it difficult for children to travel long distances daily. Poor transportation facilities, unsafe routes, and lack of proper school buildings add to their difficulties. As a result, many Dalit children either drop out early or never enroll in school at all, limiting their chances of building a better future. Recognizing these challenges, Parivartan Jyoti has taken an important initiative to support and uplift Dalit children through education. The organization has launched a dedicated campaign focused on improving access to schooling for children from Dalit communities.
